In addition to playing hammer dulcimer for wedding services and events for more than 30 years, Jim has masters degrees in music, history and theater from Ohio University and Augusta State University. He is a retired teacher having taught elementary school music for 25 years.
The hammer dulcimer is perfectly suited for intimate wedding venues such as small chapels, historic homes, gazebos and home yards and gardens where it can be enjoyed acoustically, so I specialize in small weddings of about 50 guests or less.
Amplified service is available for larger venues and groups either through the PA system of the venue, or with the use of my amplification system.
My Standard Wedding Service includes:
~Up to 30 minutes of prelude music
~Processional for attendants/ parents
~Processional for bride
~Optional interlude during ceremony or background music during readings
~Recessional and celebration music at conclusion of ceremony
Many couples add a "Cocktail Hour" to their service, so guests can be entertained in the time between the Ceremony and the formal Reception. This service is available at a small additional charge to a wedding service, or as a stand alone service.
I can also perform for your vow renewal, engagement party, or wedding reception, and for dinner parties, cocktail parties, or at a pool or backyard party. Contact me for information and a price quote for these events.
